Bonn Science Night

As part of the 2026 Bonn Science Night, the b-it, the Computer Science Department of the University of Bonn, the Lamarr Institute, and Fraunhofer IAIS will present current research on artificial intelligence under the motto of this year’s Science Year: “Diagnosis: The Future.” In the AI tent, researchers will demonstrate how AI can be applied in education, daily life, medicine, and the environment—for example, in telepresence robotics for sick children, household robots, flood forecasting, and the analysis of surgical videos. Participants include Prof. Dr. Maren Bennewitz, Prof. Dr. Hermann Blum, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Gall, and Prof. Dr. Thomas Schultz. The projects demonstrate how AI recognizes patterns, supports decision-making, and addresses specific future challenges.
