Yes, it is indeed a tough choice of a life scientist to choose Industry or academia to do research. In the beginning, I was resistant to the idea of leaving academia for industry, because I feared that I would lose certain degree of flexibility and I would never be able to come back to academia to do research. I have since learned that how you do research matters far more than where you do. In this lecture, I would love to talk about my past and current research works coming from academic and industry R&D settings. This talk is centered around genetics, microbiome, autoimmunity and artificial intelligence topics.
