B-IT activities grow: Schüler-Krypto 2006

How can Moneypenny send the plan of fort Knox to James Bond by Goldfinger's messengers without Goldfinger learning it?

Can Q teach Bond a new secret "language" while Dr. No listens, and afterwards use it to tell Bond the CIA's secret hiding place without Dr. No learning that?

Do you want to learn more? Then come to B-IT!

B-IT invites senior high school students of classes 11 through 13 to visit B-IT at Bonn and learn more about secret messages and their encryption. First we introduce you to a few secrets of cryptography and then you may test your new knowledge by doing it yourselves at the computers in our house. At the end you will be able to exchange secret messages among yourselves without Dr. No, Goldfinger or your teacher being able to find out anything about its contents. Further, you can learn how pictures can be encrypted very easily and everyone gets her/his personal silhouette to carry home. Mind that we use cryptography almost all the time without even noticing: with your banking card at your favourite ATM, when you buy something on the internet, when you call somebody with your mobile phone.
