About the speaker:

Professor Jim Hollan co-directs the Distributed Cognition and Human- Computer Interaction (HCI) Laboratory at the University of California in San Diego (UCSD). He is a leading international authority in the field of HCI, and is known for his pioneering HCI research in the 1980s as well as his recent work on the theory of Distributed Cognition. In 2003, he was elected into the CHI Academy by the Association for Computing Machinery, the highest professional distinction for researchers within HCI.

Venue: Room 2U13 (Media Computing Lab), basement floor, Computer Science Center, Ahornstr. 55, 52074 Aachen

Time: July 14, 2009: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p. m and July 15, 2009: 10:00 a.m - 3:00 p.m.

Audience: B-IT Research School PhD students with a background or interest in HCI. Others welcome while space permits.
